Sugaring
SUGAR, Lemon, & Water
That’s all!
At The Willow, we use 100% organic & natural ingredients to ensure the best care for your skin!
Our Method
-
Application
Following ancient technique by using the hand, I apply the sugar paste and mold it opposite of the hair growth at least three times onto your dead skin & hairs. This process ensures a complete 360 around your follicles.
-
Removal
By using a firm “flick” motion the sugar removes each hair with it’s roots leaving you hair free and your skin exfoliated. When hair is removed from it’s root, you will see longer lasting results with less ingrowns.
-
Soothe
Finishing the session, I will apply a soothing oil that contains clean ingredients which will ensure deep hydration, prevention of ingrowns, & lastly, soothing your skin.
What Clients Say
“Karen is amazing! It was my first time ever getting a Brazilian, and because I have sensitive skin I wanted to go with sugaring versus regular waxing. I went to Karen, and I truly do not want to go to anyone else after this. I was nervous because it was my first time, but Karen was so nice and explained everything to me. She made me feel very comfortable and I did not feel awkward at all. She was very upfront that, yes, there would be pain, but it was nothing terrible. She kept conversation with me and was just wonderful.
Lastly, my end result was totally worth the slight pain! My skin wasn't irritated or anything and was left super smooth. Karen even gave me aftercare instructions which I thought was super helpful. I think I'm now addicted and will never go back to shaving. Thanks again Karen!

FAQs

There are many differences to sugaring hair removal & traditional waxing. Sugar is 100% natural while wax is all chemical so that alone is much harsher for the skin. Wax adheres to live skin cell. Meaning, wax most often causes lifting of the skin which leads o continued skin damage. Sugar only adheres to your dead skin and hairs. Great option for those who have sensitive skin. Because of the way sugar is applied, you will find that you will see little to no ingrowns compared to waxing. Waxing and shaving are similar in the sense of breaking the hairs at the surface of the skin which causes ingrowns.

The flat answer is, yes, as it is hair coming out of your body all at once. However! The pain is momentary and instantly goes away once the hair is removed. At The Willow, I provide a technique that is light handed for clients to experience the service with minimal pain. Trust me when I say, it is painful at first but the results are well worth the minimal pain and you will be forever hooked!

1/4th of an inch -size of a rice grain or at least two weeks of hair growth from your last shave/wax.

Great question! I always suggest to jump in the shower before your appointment and rinse with warm water & very light exfoliation. If you have extremely sensitive skin, skip the light exfoliation. Secondly, if you are nervous about the pain, feel free to take a painkiller 30 mins before your appointment. Lastly, refrain from wearing any type of lotions or oils before your appointment.

Most definitely! Aftercare is one of the most important part of sugaring. It is important to be educated on how to take care of the areas of the skin after a sugaring session. Not only will I provide a thorough verbal explanation but also a printed card that has all the aftercare instructions.

At The Willow, you should expect to see exfoliated smooth skin, less hair growth even after your first appointment, & thinning of the hair. ZERO itching. Just soft and thin hair growth!

Absolutely. We kindly ask that clients put in a fresh tampon before appointment time. Clients do not need to cut the string as we are fully capable to work around it.
